The Moonshot Research and Development Program, launched in 2020, set Goal 1 as the realization by 2050 of a society in which people are free from the limitations of body, brain, space, and time. Virtual reality and telexistence are expected to play a major role in this social transformation. This organized session introduces research and visions for future society from members of the Cybernetic being project, which develops cybernetic avatar technologies and social infrastructure for embodied co-creation and includes many members of the Virtual Reality Society of Japan.
