SyncArms Full Paper at Augmented Humans 2026

Our full paper “SyncArms: Gaze-Driven Implicit Assistive Control for Parallel Robot Arms in Distributed Environments” (Koki Kawamura, Shunichi Kasahara, Maki Sugimoto) was presented at the Augmented Humans International Conference 2026 (AHs ’26), held at the OIST Conference Center on March 16–19, 2026.

When one person operates several synchronized robot arms in different places, differences between the places make it hard to act on all of them at once. SyncArms tracks which object the user is looking at, and quietly adjusts the arms in the places they are not watching so that those arms reach the corresponding objects. In our experiment, it kept the sense of embodiment of fully synchronized arms while matching the task performance of automatic control.
