Our paper “Faster Than Muscle: Executing Action based on Voluntary Nervous Signals” will be presented at ACM UIST 2026 in Detroit, in the session “The Body Electric: EMS and Electrotactile Interfaces” on Tuesday, November 3.
Faster Than Muscle starts an action from the onset of the voluntary muscle signal (EMG), before the muscle itself has moved, so the action is executed earlier while the user keeps the sense of agency.
